Its a FPS that tries a bit to act like a ARPG.
Imagine someone build a city under the sea in the 1940’es to escape the restrictions of the world we know.

The game got very good reviews on release some years ago.

The graphics is still decent, especially water and fire. Some effects are a bit dull tho but not anything that ruins the superb feel and atmosphere of the game.

You have to learn a few hotkeys to play the game to the full potential. You can of cause remap all keys, weapons can also be selected direct via a fast menu that let you choose between all your weapons and ammunitions at a singe click.
There is two kinds of “weapons”, guns and plasmids a genetic alteration that allows use of special powers. Guns have 3 kinds of ammunitions, a standard bullet that are used among several guns and 2 special ones e.g. armor piercing bullets.

Sound are made to ad the extra feel to the game, some sounds like steam powered robots gets om my nerves after a while.
If you enjoy games with a unique feel and atmosphere and don’t mind hanging around the 1940 weapons this game should get a chance. For me it was THE game until I finished it.

Once you get the story and have solved the few puzzles it’s a different game, even if you can build your character if lots of different ways is not essential to finishing the game. I tried to play this game again several times and it’s just not catching me in the same way.
[FONT="]The lack of multiplayer coop option is a disappointment but still I’ll give this game 4 stars of 5.
