First of all, we have to thank all of the fans that have given us feedback on the latest batch of maps to go into the game. We have and will continue to use community feedback to improve the game experience.
We asked for feedback on our Automatch map lists and we got it. The team at GameReplays.org posted a couple of polls, with the 1v1 poll turning into an eleven page discussion along with some eleven thousand votes cast. The COH design team sat down to look at the results of the poll and take in all of the feedback we have received. The result is that we are going to have a core set of maps that are always in the 1v1 Automatch map list, these being the top five maps from the poll. To add some variety and to keep the list from getting stale we are also going to use the six maps from the poll that had 30% or higher support in a set of three that will rotate on a monthly basis. This will allow everyone to try maps that they don’t normally play on, while still being able to vote down your two least favorite. It will also allow us to gather statistics and information on a larger group of maps. Here is the new 1v1 Automatch map list for the first month, it will go live on Monday afternoon PST:
Core Set of Maps:Angoville
Langres
Semois
Sturzdorf
Wrecked Train
Additional map set that will rotate out after 30 days:Beaux Lowlands
Flooded Plains
Ruins of Rouen
Other three map set:St. Mere Dumont
Beach Assault
Industrial Riverbed
These additional map sets will not be static as we will likely mix and match from these six additional maps.
